Porcelain veneers

Porcelain veneers

Porcelain veneers are restorations that cover the anterior and visible surface of a tooth that is damaged, discolored or aesthetically unacceptable. Porcelain veneers require a lot of attention to details from the prosthodontist and if they are well done, they are very difficult to detect. They are also very resistant to stains of coffee, tea or even cigarettes.

Here are some situations where porcelain veneers may be the treatment of choice:

  • For discolored teeth due to root canal treatment, for dental stains from the use of medication such as tetracycline, fluorosis or even to replace old restorations that have faded over time.
  • For teeth with wear
  • For teeth that are broken or have cracks
  • For teeth that are malposed or malformed
  • For diastema (spaces) between teeth
